Dear all

I used to be an avid user of B-DJ and have just returned to it after a couple of years away. I have a few questions which I hope you guys might have some opinions about...

1. I purchased the discounted upgrade to FutureDecks a while ago but never used it because I was happy with B-DJ. What good reasons are there for me to upgrade (or not)?

2. I have around 2500 songs in my library and only those that I've played have the BPM recognised (of course). Is there a way of telling B-DJ to analyse all the files for the BPM?

3. During shows - especially later on in the evening after a few hours use - I notice that I get short drop-outs in the sound. What can I do to stop these happening? I am running the software on an HP NX7010 1.7 GHz machine, vanilla XP SP2 (not patched), 768MB RAM.

If you're happy with B-DJ, and if it doesn't limit your abilities, don't stop using it
FutureDecks Pro is a véry stable product now, B-DJ wasn't/isn't if you used a normal pc with the programs installed for daily use.
But give it a try, you never know, you might like it more

I can't answer 2 and 3, as I don't have the knowledge.

Hi.. I have been using BDJ with BCD-2000 for some time now.
my query is -
can I use futureDecks pro with BCD-2000 on a windows XP machine ?
will the basic functionality be simiar to BDJ ? (things like cue/pause button working etc.)

to edmorey's query about scanning all songs for BPM - this can be done using other freely available S/W. I have used mixMeister's freeware app called BPM analyser. this is lightweight and it can scan all ur subfolders for MP3's and calculate the BPM. your songlist with BPM can be exported into a CSV also !!

You definately can use the BCD2000 with FutureDecks Pro on Windows XP (also on -removed-)
It's similiar to B-DJ, thought the stability has been improved a lót.

I think you have the 2000 confused with the 3000?

ah did it again! Sorry I ment the BCD3000, as the BCD2000 drivers aren't compatible with Windows Vista/7.

The bcd2000 works with fdpro out the box with a one exception, there are no mappings for the effects section of the controller since effects engine has been changed in fdpro.

I use the BCD2 with FD pro. as it was the only software to do its job as intended. i tried traktor and found it over the top and took an age to map BCD into it. the BCD2 own player is by and large crap.
