Postby randysamba » Wed Aug 26, 2009 2:49 pm

I have a basic notebook laptop. How do i listen to the track im trying to cue up if im already using my only headphone jack as an output to the speakers?
Please dont tell me i just bought the biggest pile of crap. Surely not.

If that's the only headphone jack, previewing of a track is not possible.
For that you need an special interface which must support a splitted master out and headphone.

That adaptor is called a stereo splitter (you have 2 outputs -- one with the left channel and the other with the right channel).
If you want to go the professional way, you will need to buy an additional USB soundcard (I recommend M-Audio) -- preferably with multiple distinct outputs.

I have an external USB audio device (Roland UA-30), but it is stereo only so I can't use it as a front/back split device for both playback and cueing. Is there any way to get FutureDecks to use one device (the UA-30) for playback and another (the internal audio) for cueing? UltraMixer has that capability, but it can't talk to the UA-30 properly.

I know I have the split-stereo option as an alternative, but I'd prefer full stereo playback.

Hi There..

I just bought a USB 2.0 External 5.1 Channel 3D Sound Card Adapter - http://www.amazon.com/External-Channel-Adapter-Notebook-Laptop/dp/B000TYR14U And I tried every conceivable type of CFG combination (Built-in Output, USB Headphones, Aggregate Device etc.) using either or both of my usb outs, but without any success. Are you telling me that I need to buy an additional device!??

I realize this is not rocket science, nor am I a complete idiot (or at least my girlfriend has assured me of this), but I really can't get my head around why I can't get this forsaken contraption to work. I'm running the latest version of FutureDecks Lite on a MacBook4,1 with Intel Core 2 Duo, Processor Speed: 2.4 GHz, and Memory: 2 GB.

Cheers..
