Some MP3's make FD crash

Postby ErikRad » Sun Sep 27, 2009 12:34 pm

Some of my MP3's makes FD crash without any reason. The files in question are readable, writable, playable in other players. To reproduce I have placed the file for download on the internet. Please give me an Personal Message so I can give you the URL to download this file.

I use Futuredecks Pro version 1.5.1

Call stack (after running it through the disassembler)

Have you checked if those mp3's might be corrupted?

this "feature" may depend on charset 8)

try to stripe out the id tags (mp3tag can be helpfully)

Problem solved!

Has to do with the codec. Tried another codec, and the problem went away.

Thanx everybody (especially Xenobase for fulfilling the Servicedesk tasks ;-) ).

If I only knew how to figure out which codec exactly FD is using...

FD Pro tries firstly the iTunes installed codec.
If that does not exist, it uses the _SAME_ codec that any app will use to play mp3s.
So, it depends on what codecs you have installed on your system.
Just remember that iTunes' codec is the best quality one (just install iTunes and that's it -- no need to run it or anything else).
