Hmm, it does sound like the vinyl's incompatible, but it shouldn't be since FDP timecode is based on MsPinky...have you got any other control vinyl you can test out? And torq vinyl should work - it's the same as MsPinky timecode :? . It MIGHT be the case that MsPinky version 4 isn't supported yet...but I can't confirm that. It would make sense since you say that selecting MsPinky v2 in your program doesn't work, implying that version 4 is a different timecode system, which isn't compatible with FDP, but I can't be sure of that :( .

At the moment, according to xylio, only torq and MsPinky are supported, and since they are the same system, FDP doesn't have the option to select between them. I suggest you email support@xylio.com and see if they can help. When you get a reply, and if it works, post it here for future reference :) . Sorry I couldn't really help you!

I don't have any other control vinyl. I am also reluctant to purchase $30 worth of vinyl to trial a program I might not end up buying. That said, I could always use the Torq vinyls as a back up to my ms pinky set up. I know for a fact that Torq and Gen 2 and Gen4 are slightly different (I will have to find the Pinky forum topic where dlpinkstah (the dev of Ms Pinky I believe) confirms this). I have emailed support and will let you know what they say. I believe Torq is version 3.5 or something of that nature again according to a post on the Pinky forums.

I'm not suggesting you go out and buy more vinyl, just trying to help you with this problem! I read on a forum post this morning that under the audio/midi tab in FDP you can select your timecode vinyl type, but I'm on my laptop so I can't confirm this :( . Have a look when you get time :) .

If torq vinyl is version 3.5 of pinky, and selecting 3.5 in your pinky VST causes your control vinyl not to work then I think it's likely that the timecode is different, rendering it incompatible with FDP until support for more timecode is added, which vim (the dev on the forums) has said is coming over the next few updates :) .

I apologize if my post sounded rude. It wasn't directed at you and you've been very helpful. I looked at my version 2.0.2 demo and my only choices are: future decks pro cd, ms pinky/torq cd, ms pinky/torq vinyl. I'm guessing my choices are: get some torq vinyl, or wait to evaluate FDP until it supports Pinky gen 4.

No no! Don't worry about it! :) . The idea of a forum is to get help quick, and I was just doing that :) .

I think it is most likely that gen 4 of pinky is unsupported currently :( . I use torq and that works great on the program! Would recommend looking into that...

Here's a couple of things that might help settle this issue:

1) Post a request for Gen 4 of Pinky to be supported by FDP here: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=9497&start=30
that's the feature request forum.

2) PM the dev who resides on here under the name of 'vim', you'll see his posts around, when you do, hit the PM button and ask him when generation 4 of pinky will be supported :) .

Hope that helps!

I THINK so if you use the B-side, I cant remember what it's called...slave mode or something like that, but otherwise generally no you have to beatmatch
